For 2024 there is one category: for work substantially completed in 2023

Note: In 2024, councils who are current members of LGNSW are eligible to enter. Individual applicants must be employed by a council that is a member of LGNSW. This award is open to council Executive Officers (Directors or above) and, for the first time, senior managers. Elected local government officials are not eligible to apply for the Excellence in Leadership Award.
The awards will be presented during Local Government Week, at the Local Government Week Awards on Thursday 1 August 2024 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney.
The deadline for applications is 5pm Tuesday 16 April 2024. Some tips for entering:
- Before applying, please ensure you have the approval from your General Manager and/or your manager, and that your council is a member or an associate member of LGNSW.
- We suggest you read the FAQ's on our website.
- Please ensure you complete every section of the form.
- Please be patient when you submit your form as the upload may take a couple of minutes.
- Please ensure you receive a confirmation email, otherwise your entry has not been submitted successfully.
